There are some very serious things in life and then there are pugs.. Need I say more?
“In the beginning was….. “. Just kidding!! Let’s move on. lol……
One quick FYI: Please understand that I am not writing to impress anyone with my editing skills or lack thereof. If I worry too much about perfect grammar and punctuation I will be here for hours. This momma has too much work to do. Upfront, please forgive me.. May you be blessed!!!
“I have set the Lord continually before me… I will not be shaken”! The struggle is real!
To encourage one another, we have to share our stories. Our story is God’s glory amen!
Has anyone reading this watched the movie Matilda? The task master lady was brutal to Matilda! Always picking on her. Matilda was a gifted little girl. She was so cute AND she had powers! Her own parents dismissed her powers, intelligence and beauty. Yet this little girl remained in knowing just WHO SHE WAS.
Remember when the mean task master lady said to Matilda– I’m big and your small…”?
This fallen world is a lot like that task master, always using that finger, pointing at our chest demanding that we “remember” how small we are.
But God. Hahaha!
Remember Misses Honey? She was the sweetest teacher anyone could ever have! When she walked into the room, she brought the warmth of the sun with her. She… loved… Matilda.
Because Misses Honey was filled with warmth, intelligence and grace she recognized the same in little MAtilda.. She understood Matilda. Soon, she adopted Matilda!
Just like Jesus has adopted us. We are made in His image. He recognizes His Children. He understands us. He brings the warmth of the SON into our lives. He… loves… us!!!
Let’s remember, like Matilda did, who WE ARE IN JESUS!
Yesterday I posted a podcast called INSPIRED PT1. I am overjoyed about this word from God! Excited! Matilda inspired me because she was resilient. She knew EXACTLY who she was. Bullies will come around, trying to make us believe we are small.. But Jesus comes in with ALL His amazingness and fills our hearts with the truth that WE ARE HIS.
I hope you get to enjoy the INSPIRED podcasts today!
Love one another!
Go light some fires for Jesus TODAY!!!!
AUGUST 16, 2018
Let’s have a conversation!……….
WHERE IS THE FELLOWSHIP?
It is a beautiful Sabbath day at the Oregon coast. I can breath in and taste fresh clean air! The Lord is so good! Yet, how good have we been to Him and each other? From where I stand, I know we can do better… We know better!
It’s Sunday morning. I find myself feeling very sad.. The many who call themselves Believers in the One True Almighty are estranged; estranged from one another and from God. And why? Look all around. We are too consumed with the unimportant.
I wonder– what is our first thought when we get ready for church this morn? Is it what am I going to wear or is it —I get to worship the Lord today with His people! This generation of the church, the called out ones, has been behaving like a community of self-involved ones, consumed with the unimportant…
Satan is loving it. His workers are enjoying the ride… and his agenda is bringing forth fruit. Yet, Believers know this, agree they see this very big problem, but still take the currents of evil… because taking a ride on the current is much easier than swimming against the current.. But, don’t they know… .. don’t they know that learning to swim against the current has a great purpose? Swimming against the currents of evil makes us stronger. Our lungs get stronger– we are bolder to breath in and exhale truth. Our bodies begin to withstand the frictions of the world, we begin to hold our positions with assurance and strength.. Our arms reach further towards God for His ways! We know this.. We can do better!
I believe God’s people, those who are called by His name want true fellowship. The desire of our hearts is withstanding the currents of the evil one and his agenda. We want to see, we want to understand and obey the Lord God and His ways… however, many also are afraid and have forgotten how to trust God. Too consumed with fear, we have forgotten that His “perfect love casts out all fear”!
Remember your first love Church!. Listen to the desire of your heart. It is Yeshua. It is the Father! It is the Truth!
And “fight the good fight of faith”, not against the flesh, but the evil in the flesh!! Love one another. Live determined to love and to forgive.
Love you all to the moon and back!
See ya at the next podcast!🌄🙏😇
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness... ‘Prepare you the way of the Lord'”…
Satan not only wants our souls, but while we share this world with him, he wants our minds. If he has a grip on our minds he can teach us how to be masters rationalizers of “much to do about nothing”. In Christ we are called to be wise in “casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”. Notice where it says “every high thing that exalts itself against God’s knowledge. Think about that. What exalts itself in this world that goes against the ways of God? Evolution? Some sin we are in? Secular lifestyles? Can you think of anything in your life that is kicking God’s commandments to the curb? Are any of us innocent of being master rationalizers in some ways?
Satan is building an army and he is preparing the way for them, through breaking us down. How do you think he is doing it? He is not focused on his army (They are biting at the bit), no his army is READY… Satan is focused on God’s army– you and me! He is seeking us out, ready to pounce. He is watching you and he is watching me. He is hoping we are preoccupied in our spiritual “much to do about nothing” lazy chairs.
The raid is coming. We must be ready! All of God’s people want to be ready. But, we do not always know how. Sometimes we prefer to stay in our comfort zones, and sometimes, well, sometimes, we just do not want to think about it; life is already difficult enough… “Let’s just talk about the gospel, that’s the most important thing anyway”… Yes, it sure is, however, the Lord never minces words of warning!!!
Be prepared, and prepare for yourself, you, and all your company that are assembled unto you, and be a guard for them! Ezekiel 38:7
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13
“The rulers of darkness of this world” do not play nice. They do not have one ounce of mercy in them. The worst horror movie that was ever made is a very dim shadow compared to what is upon us now and what is coming.
There are some Believers that have lived and worshipped in their spiritual lazy chair for far too long. Bible studies, pot lucks, church functions– are all meant to edify and fortify our spiritual muscles. How well are we doing? Are we walking away more prepared for an attack at a moment’s notice? Or have we been distracted with baby showers, fashion tips, keeping the status quo? Again, they have good purpose and are really fun, but if they are not meant to be the main training grounds, we are “waiting as sheep to a slaughter”. I feel we are at fault at being way too fluffy in our talk, study and walk. We can not fight the spiritual battles in our lives if we are not able to reach beyond the earthly distractions. We must get down to God’s business of building up the kingdom. Satan is in the business of tearing it down.
This is a call to arms — a call to God’s people to “take the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD…STAND…PREPARE… AND STAND GAURD”… Truly, we are all being called for “such a time as this”. When the raid comes, I want to be ready. I want my eyes open to the cunning tactics of Satan way before the real danger arrives.
“This I know, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power: from such, turn away”! Any of this feel familiar to you? It surely does to me. I see it everywhere, and sadly in the church, our beloved church!
What kind of soldier in training have we been as a church? As soon as a soldier’s feet hit the floor, their minds and bodies are set to engage in mental and physical preparedness for the enemy at hand. They study the enemy; weaknesses and strengths. They study their own weaknesses and strengths. They prepare their minds and their bodies accordingly. Do we? Does it matter if a soldier is new in training? Does it matter if a soldier is seasoned in years of knowledge? Both must engage what they learn in order for them to fight the enemy effectively!!!!
This is not just about having Bible studies in our homes and going to Bible conferences! Those things are wonderful if, IF, we are purposed in strengthening one another for the REAL battles at hand. Keeping conversations within the confines of Christian P.C is not going to make breakthroughs. We must make our church and fellowship safe sanctuaries for the hearts of our people! For us to be strong we must get to the heart of the matters in the homes: marriages, families, our children need help! For get about tip toeing around being labeled as a “gossiper”, reach out. Stop worrying about stepping into drama, step in it! Get your hands dirty. The battle is not pretty folks. It just isn’t! We can’t always color in the lines perfectly! Forsake the status quo. Light someone’s fire. Tip the apple kart. Jesus did. All the disciples did. No mighty man of God colored in the lines!!!
Stop with the crazy cliques! Who are we? We are God’s people!!! Who are we to say you are in and you are out? “God is no respecter of persons! Why are we thinking this is justified behavior? This sounds simple, but prejudice is permeating the church today!!! Too pretty, too fat, too rich, too poor! This is insane people! We are doing Satan’s work FOR HIM! We have enough divisions in the world today. God has no room in it amongst the body of His people! We must get back to being faithful and being good towards one another.
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:17-18
The body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26 26
It is time to be “the city on the hill” and LET THE LIGHT OF CHRIST in us shine!
My people, my friends, my sisters, please hear this call. We love the Lord and we have served Him well! The church is good at doing many things. However, evil is at the gates. It is now time to go beyond our recipe circles and baby showers. It is time to be a people God can “turn His face upon” and for us to be the army He has called us to be!
For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6
The stronger we are in Christ, the more we are aware of the enemy’s plans. The devil is the master magician of sleight of hand. The more we rely on other sources for help, other than the Word of God, the more we become the easy prey. Satan wants us to lean on people and books, church Sunday attendance, preachers and even blogs like this to be our main meal. If our main meal is not the Word of God we will never know how to use it in battle. It does not matter how long you have been a Christian! The Word is where the power is against evil! Secular ideas should be one of those ideas we “take captive”. They are seeds from demented men (Freud was a serial sicko). Secular wisdom is like putting a band aide on a third degree wound–it actually does nothing but add another layer of pain. Eventually, you have to rip it off!
Here’s a little Diddy about T. Lee and Hubby:
Earlier today I was talking on the phone with my husband. My talking turned into a bawl. Why? Because the enemy was heavy upon me, messing with my head! Most likely to keep me depressed and oppressed. If the enemy can zap our resolve, well no Sister T, or Sister K, or Sister J stepping into God’s plans. I am getting much better these days realizing when God starts a-callin’, the devil starts a-crawlin’.. Horrible word picture, I know, but it’s true…
As our conversation continued, my husband asked, “what’s wrong, you sound irritated” I lost my voice and began holding back tears. Through the sniffling and feeling sorry for my sorry-self I shared that I felt like a failure. I said to him that I was tired at being good at losing! I fight well, but I rarely experience the earthly rewards. I realize now that those feelings must have been simmering more than I realized. My husband’s awareness helped bring the simmer to the surface. It did boil over. I laugh now because the Lord ALWAYS accomplishes “a good work in us” when we are willing to let Him! He lets the garbage pour out so He can pour the truth back in!!! As the ugly cry came forth, the flood gates opened to what lied beneath!
Apparently, the enemy got ahold of my thoughts. I started thinking of all the things God called me to do. What do I have to show for it? Don’t we all feel that way at times? No matter how churchy we think we are, all of us want something to show for our efforts. Some days I feel like soda fizz just waiting to bubble up, yet with no where to go. Recently, I heard a preacher say “God calls us for His good works (ministry), but we must understand that He is perfecting us, sanctifying us for the time we step into that calling. In another words, our callings may not occur at the same time we are ready to carry them out… That fizz in us will be released when God is ready to set our callings loose!
Being called is no easy thang (yes, I meant to type thang)! Scripture says that we must “walk worthy of the vocation… with lowliness, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”. Holy Moses! I am so awed by God, I cant stand it! This verse sums it up! Let’s break it down:
- walk worthy— WHAT! Does that mean I have to be a saint? Yes it does! Oh no you say, I am no saint… Is there one on this earth, other than Jesus, who is holy? Absolutely not. If we thought we were without sin we would be “a liar and the truth is not in us”. Be encouraged! It is good that we know our sinfulness! Praise God for it! “If we walk in the Light [Jesus] as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin”! When we repent [done away with sin] He does away with it too. We are clean! Then you tell me, T– I can’t seem to get rid of a few more sins. I am doomed! No, you are not Sister woman! The Lord says that “He will never leave us or forsake us”. His mercy is everlasting. He is longsuffering. Jesus says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”! We can ask the Lord to help us overcome the sin we still struggle in! The struggle is real! Once we repent, “our sins are as far as the east is from the west”. There is no looking down anymore! We NOW have fellowship with God and His people! We are saints!
- Listen, have you ever connected the word saint and the word sanctified? I have not until just now! Let’s look at what God says: “To those who have been sanctified in Christ, saints by calling, in every place- call on the name of the Lord… to the saints who are faithful…giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light [in Christ]”…
- The Lord gave me this calling at the age of five. Yet, He sent me on a 40 year quest in the wilderness to sanctify me “for such a time as this”… It is time for all saints to come to their “such a time as this” too!!
- Forbearing one another in love… I confess, in my youth I had a hard time forbearing with love towards hurtful people. Most of my life was lived in a boxing ring. The Lord supernaturally nursed me back to life. I have experienced His amazing grace at work. We are able through Christ to give love to the worst of offenders. If we can give them love, we are affirmed that Christ is in us! If we can’t, it is usually because we are presently in the ring with them. Ask God for HELP! He says to “acknowledge Him in ALL our ways”. After this commandment, He says “then I will direct your paths”!
- God wants us to ask Him to help us love them and others BETTER. God knows our humanity and I can tell you, He will pour His love for them into you. “If we have not love, we are clanging symbols” worthless noise makers. None of us want to be worthless noise makers. Without a doubt you understand this too. Every moment we are hit with the devil’s darts we have to remember that the battle is not of the flesh. It is not people. It is the enemy. Once this knowledge rests at the forefront of our thinking, we begin to truly “fight the good fight”!
- Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace… Beautiful words of life! As saints we have seasons of living in the fighting ring. We are indeed the Lord’s workmanship. We endeavor, strive, press, and get up again. It becomes our nature. One of my favorite verses is (I paraphrase): Brethren I have not yet made it, but I forget the things that are behind, reaching forth unto the things which are ahead and I press towards the mark for the prize of Christ Jesus of the high calling of God”!
Phew–We did good breaking down that scripture!
Now we continue the conversation: God’s glory is in my story!
Ever feel like you are Sugar Ray, Mohammed Ali, and George Forman all rolled up into one? We are His strong army. Some of God’s people are ready for the fight! Then we get hit… I get knocked out. Sometimes it takes my breath away. How about you? Do you rise like a phoenix? I rise more like a dodo bird with one eye. Not pretty. But I rise!!!
Am I a champion? By the world’s standards I surely am not. Have I ever received a prize? The truth is, I rarely get first place in anything. Ask my family, I am really good at losing. I laugh about it now. I kind of take pride in it now. Why not own it? When we own it, no one has power over us!
Do I ever get knocked out? Constantly. Do I get back up again. You bet!!! Bruised, battered, beaten, yes and it stinks, but I get back up! Remember the scene where Rocky was going to lose it, but he hooked is arm on the rope and pulled himself up at the last count? That is my life! I am good at staying in the ring. I am goooood at taking punches. Am I immune to the pain? I have prayed and prayed for this position, this ailment, to be taken from me. I have asked the Lord, Hey– If you’re going to allow me to take punches, at least make it so I don’t feel the pain! What does He tell me?
Suddenly The Lord’s words pour into my heart: “Blessed are you who are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven…blessed are you when men shall persecute you for my name’s sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven”! I take those words as truth! I am telling you with all my soul, that time and time again, they have given me LIFE! I get up again, wipe the sweat off my nose, punch my gloves together a few times and bounce around like Rocky— getting myself ready for the next round…
My dear husband was trying to “encourage me”, but I just got more frustrated! Guys think that telling us we are “wrong” to feel defeatist is encouraging! He thinks if he reminds me of “all the good I’ve done” I’ll just flip over and ask him to pet my belly! WHAT! Ladies, I bet you’re either shaking your head or chuckling right now.. My response was– ” the struggle is REEEEEAL”!!!!! Baaaaawl, sniffle, bawl…lose my breath. How does he respond? He begins to hold back a laugh. Seriously?! Well, it was kind of funny (now looking back at it).
Let’s get real. Today I was shaken, but not broken and not defeated.
As I listened to my husband’s encouraging words of truth, I came back to reason. God took the thoughts the enemy tried to use against me and blew them into the wind! Through this experience, the Lord showed me something really beautiful. He made it even more clear today than yesterday that I was created “unto good works for His glory”.
That freed me. You say, how? Well, I do not need to receive anything from this world for my efforts. Whatever this mouth speaks, these hands type, this mind plans, was created to shout to the world, God is real, I experience Him every day! I am excited to share this. I am excited to let my story be His glory. If my sorrows can be someone’s hopeful tomorrows, every bruise is worth it!!! Real hope. The kind of hope that follows through with His awesome goodness amen!!! Every time I have been knocked down I give thanks. It was Jesus’ strength that infused into me His hope so I could get back up! With every knockout, I gained more muscle, more understanding and was RENEWED. refreshed and revived! When we take God’s hand and Way, we are opening our cups for Him to not just pour into them, but overflow them with His awesome goodness!!! Wow!!
My story today was a blessing. I am thankful that I used the powerful Word of God to climb out of the devil’s plans! The Lord took my humanity into His hands. He was kind and understanding, patiently waiting for me to come back to my right mind. Truly, we are not of the world. We have a Mighty Father that cares for us– if we so seek Him. What a wasted minute of my tears, but what a lifetime of walking in Jesus even more blessed and even more edified! It is worth it!
Most of us think that everyone else goes through life smoothly. The devil is a liar! In Jesus we’re on fire! Looking at scripture I am encouraged to know that all of God’s people had a real struggle. David was in so much pain that “his bones hurt”. Did he feel surrounded by love and kindness all the time? Was his privileged life smooth sailing? He said, “Hear my cry my king and my God”… David’s sin was deep and because of that, his heart was vexed. Now the Lord let him suffer because David needed to come to full repentance to be the man that was “after God’s own heart”. Sometimes the Lord lets us swim in sorrow. He waits for us to awaken to repentance so that we can again have sweet fellowship with Him!
David comes to terms with his sin. He asks the Lord to “have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak: O Lord heal me; for my bones are vexed.. return O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake”…
So what about us who suffer because of other people’s sins? How did Jesus handle it as He was being spit upon by His own people? How did Paul? How about the Believers who lived at the same time as Jesus ? All of them suffered great persecution from their OWN people. The Lord says to fight not with fire but with love. “Love your enemy’s and pray for them, bless them”. A long time ago I wondered this: If my enemy is happy and super blessed he’ll be less likely to go after me! So Lord, let them win the lottery! Maybe there is something to that? Remember, when persecuted for His name’s sake, “we are in the company of Jesus and His disciples”.
People love to hate the Light and those who walk in the Light. They do! They love to hate the light of Christ in us. Why do we flinch at that? If we don’t get real about it, we will live our lives stupid and easy pickin’s for the REAL enemy. I will fight the good fight! I am not about to let the enemy mess with my mind like a brand new Rubik’s cube!
Ever see a brand new Rubik’s cube? That’s like seeing a unicorn! Ever watch a kid get his hands on a brand new Rubik’s cube? Moving the squares all over the place messing everything up! Satan does that to us. If he can get a hold of us, he’ll mess us up! God got me right! And I want to stay right through His hands, not let some fool get ahold of me.
The devil is the fool of the world. Sadly those who follow him and walk in the darkness are fools too! Be careful though– they are weak. The faithless are weak and God tells us to love them.
When the fool is trying to infiltrate my mind, I pray— “The devil is a liar and MY GOD is real! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! Yeshua, Jesus you are my shield and my buckler! I am covered in Your holy sanctifying blood! In the name of Jesus, I refuse to believe that lie, to think on that lie. I toss that lie back to hell where it belongs. In the name of Jesus, I will think on what is pure, lovely, true and of any good report (about that person or situation)”!
Then I go through and remember any good report about the person or situation.
Remember the verse where the Lord says, “If the world hates you, you know that it first hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own, but because you are NOT of the world, I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you– The servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, the will also persecute you…” Wow, the Lord humbles me and my “sorry-self”.
With His Word, He lifts me up and out of the struggle. He revives my heart. Jesus puts the spring back in my step where there was once a limp (like the Hunchback of Notre-Dame stagger, not pretty at all).
These are the moments where our faith kicks in. Remember, “faith is a GIFT from God, it is NOT of ourselves”! We do not generate our own faith, God is the generator, “the author and finisher of our faith”. We are called to “work out faith” and be the “lights of the world”….
Part Two: Living out Faith!
Let’s get unshakeable and Unbreakable!
See ya’ll soon!
